New Territories North (NTN) Region hosted a year-end review at NTN Regional Headquarters on February 18 for local community leaders, including chairmen and members of District Councils and District Fight Crime Committees, chairmen of Association of Heads of Primary and Secondary Schools, chairmen of Parent-Teacher Association, NTN Region Road Safety Patrol and representatives of various Government Departments. In the briefing, NTN Acting Deputy Regional Commander Ian McNicol summed up the situation of police work in the preceding year and introduced NTN Region's Operational Priorities for this year, with a view to giving different sectors of the community a better idea of policing directions and targets and enhancing the relationship and communication between the Region and the community. NTN Senior Superintendent (Crime) Wong kin-wah spoke on the crime trend and highlighted the results achieved in combatting crime and educational campaigns with the support and co-operation by the community. NTN Senior Superintendent (Traffic) Ng Wing-kai introduced the new "Enhanced Driver Safety System", which aims at educating on, as well as promoting, the importance of safe driving. Operation units also introduced their new equipment and tactics. The guests watch a demonstration by Emergency Unit officers on how to deal with a person with mental problems |
