TKODIV honours its Best Police Constables |

Tseung Kwan O Division (TKODIV) held the presentation Ceremony of the Best Police Constable (PC) Election 2012 on January 4, with the Chairman of Sai Kung District Fight Crime Committee and District Councillor, Mr Lau Wai-cheung, and Kwun Tong District Commander Chau Cho-kei attending as officiating guests. The election, organised in support of Commissioner's Strategic Direction on "Supporting Frontline Units", pays recognition to officers with a high level of perseverance and positive attitude, as well as new recruits with potentials. It is divided into three categories, namely "Veteran Category" for 18 years of service or more, "Professional Category" for three to under 18 years of service and "Rookie Category" for less than three years of service. A total of 28 officers were nominated for gold, silver and bronze awards for each category. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Chau pointed out that Tseung Kwan O is a busy police division, where law and order relies on the effort of every officer. He hoped officers would continue to do their utmost and display their ability and professionalism to make Tseung Kwan O a safe place for people to live and work in. At the ceremony, a short video jointly produced by the awardees was played, showing their zeal for, and views of, police work. Followings are the gold winners sharing their feeling of winning the awards. Veteran Category - PC Chan Cheung-fai: "The award assures me as long as I do my best with enthusiasm and a serious attitude, I'll get the recognition of superiors and colleagues." Professional Category- PC Li Kwok-kin: "Having worked for six years, I've learned to handle my daily job with a proactive attitude. If I come across a problem, I'll discuss it with my supervisors or colleagues to find a solution. I also express my views for sake of good communication." Rookie Category - PC Cheng Ka-ki: "I wish to thank all the colleagues in my unit for their support, encouragement, and understanding, which have in many ways enhanced my police knowledge and professionalism."
