Building on the previous success of the Force booth in the annual Education and Careers Expo, Police Public Relations Branch and Recruitment Division (RECDIV) put in extra thoughts and efforts in designing the Force booth at this year's Expo to publicise the theme of, "Join the Police, Reach Full Potential, Serve the Community". During the four-day Expo, RECDIV officers manned the booth to accept applications and conduct on-site initial screening, while Auxiliary police officers assisted in answering visitors' enquiries. Director of Personnel and Training Chau Kwok-leung and other senior officers from various police units visited the booth and showed their support for the Force participation in the Expo. Many police officers also brought their families to the booth. Officers from different specialist units and secondary duty cadres also manned the booth to introduce their work and display their equipment. These included Weapons Training Division, Police Dog Unit, Marine Small Boat Unit, Emergency Unit, Traffic Formation, Airport Security Unit, Counter Terrorism Response Unit, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau, Crime Prevention Bureau, Identification Bureau, Force Search Unit, Police Negotiation Cadre and Force Abseiling Cadre. A career talk was held for over 200 visitors, providing information on entry requirements, selection process, salary and benefits as well as the career paths and promotion prospects for Police Inspectors and Police Constables. In addition, some of the Mentees, who are undergraduates, of the Police Mentorship Programme (PMP) also helped out at the Force booth, distributing souvenirs and application forms, promoting the PMP and introducing the Hong Kong Police Mobile Application. Among the many visitors to the Force booth, an expatriate lady working in Hong Kong expressed her appreciation and thanks to officers for maintaining Hong Kong as a place to live in peace and work happily. In this year's Expo, RECDIV received more applications for the posts of Probationary Inspector, Recruit Police Constable and Auxiliary Police Constable than the past two years - a total of 800 applications. The next large-scale recruitment activity, "Police Recruitment Seminar", will be held at Police College later this year. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
