PHQ win Silver Award for source separation of waste
TThe Force is committed to conserving the environment by effectively using resources and developing an environmental protection culture among its members. Support Wing, as building management of Police Headquarters (PHQ), has taken initiatives to arrange collection of recyclable waste from PHQ building floors.
Since 2010, PHQ have joined the Programme on Source Separation of Commercial & Industrial Waste organised by Environmental Protection Department (EPD) for separation and recovery of waste on commercial and industrial premises. EPD has assessed and recognised the source separation and collection practice adopted by the Force as fully effective. As a result, PHQ have won the Silver Award (Other Building Types) among more than 800 participating buildings in the 2011/12 Commendation Scheme of the Programme.
Support Wing takes this opportunity to appeal to PHQ staff members to continue to support the Programme.
