To encourage the Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) community to serve their own neighbourhood, Kowloon Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, in partnership with Kowloon City District (KCDIST), has recruited 66 Thai elders and eight Chinese elders to form the "Lok Sin Tong Fight Crime Veteran" team.

The team's inauguration ceremony was held on February 24 in the Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society Primary School in Kowloon City before a large gathering of guests, including Thailand Consulate-General, Mr Chakri Srichawana, Kowloon City District Officer, Tsui Yiu-leung, KCDIST Commander Siu Chak-yee and three chairmen of Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society.

KCDIST also has its own "Fight Crime Veteran" Team, which was formed in November 2007. The team now has 474 members who actively participate in anti-crime and road safety activities in Kowloon City.
