The Force has planned to recruit 1,165 officers, comprising 175 Probationary Inspectors and 990 Recruit Police Constables, in 2013-14. To attract more candidates with the right calibre to join the Force, Recruitment Division held a Recruitment Seminar in Police College on May 11.

The seminar provided the participants with information on selection process, interview skills and standard of physical fitness. Arrangements were also made for them to undergo initial screening on the spot. This one-stop service aimed to streamline and enhance processing of applications.

At one of the experience-sharing sessions, acting Director of Personnel and Training Ng Tsui Fung-ying pointed out that though police job are arduous, they are full of challenges and meaningful. She reminded those aspiring to take the jobs as a career that they should have a commitment to serving society, not shirk from difficulties, and take on challenges. 

The Recruitment Seminar attracted about 1,000 participants, among whom are fresh university graduates and Non-ethnic Chinese students. The seminar was part of the Force's proactive recruitment strategy, successfully projecting the professional image of the Force.  The next major recruitment event will be "Recruitment Day" scheduled for July this year.
