The closing-cum-graduation ceremony of the Rainbow Life Scheme under the 9th Spring Bud Project was held on May 4. Among the officiating guests were Western District (WDIST) Commander Choy Wise, Honorary Advisor of Western Junior Police Call Honorary President Council, Mr Thomas Ng, YWCA District Officer, Mr Cheung Chi-kwan, and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Jockey Club Lei Tung Integrated Services Centre Officer, Mr Wong Yuet-wah.

With over 300 police voluntary attendances, Spring Bud Project has benefited over 2,000 young participants since its commencement in 2004. A variety of activities have been organised for youngsters, including war-game training, make-up courses and aerobic dances. Participating in the activities, police volunteers forged close friendship with the participants, helped them set their goals for the future and guided them along with care and love.  These are exactly the spirit of mutual care the Spring Bud Project has been trying to promote.

Taking part in various activities, youngsters have mastered many different skills, cultivated their interests and enhanced their personal qualities and potentials. In addition, they, through contacts with police volunteers, also came to understand police work better. With mutual encouragement and support, both police volunteers and participants shared positive life values.

The project also offered a channel for police volunteers to live up to the Force motto: "We Serve with Pride and Care", and join hands with youngsters in making contributions to society.
