The Experience Sharing Session of the Development Programme for Junior Officers with Potential, held at Police Headquarters on June 5, attracted around 120 officers, including 11 serving Auxiliary Junior Police Officers (JPOs).
The session commenced with an opening address by Chief Superintendent (Human Resources) Cheung Ching. Following the address, Police Tactical Unit Deputy Commandant Ip Chi-keung and Wong Tai Sin Assistant District Commander Chim Tak-ming shared their success stories of advancing from the ranks. They encouraged JPOs with potential to seize opportunities to advance to Probationary Inspector (PI) by making application and taking the written exam as soon as possible.
Other speakers in the session were three PIs, Wong Sau-lok, Lai Chung-man and Li Wing-yip, who are working as Patrol Sub-unit Commanders after passing out from Police College in April. They offered tips on how to improve proficiency in English and get prepared to cope with challenges, and compared the advantages of Direct Application and the Potential Officers Scheme.
Superintendent (Recruitment) Tam Nga-ching spoke on the latest recruitment information, the projected PI vacancies, and candidates' performances in the Extended Interview.
