Knowledge Café discussed police-media relations in Police College on May 29 when Director of Management Services (DMS) Tang How-kong shared his experience of media relations with Chief Superintendents and Senior Superintendents.

 

Following an introduction by the facilitator, Senior Superintendent Eric Cheng, who is the Force Knowledge Management Champion (Peer Advisers Scheme), Mr Tang spoke of his years of practical experience in dealing with the media and offered advice on how to garner their support in order to work side by side with them, giving examples of what frontline commanders should consider in gaining mutual respect and understanding from the media.
