Central District (CDIST) has been operating a "Sunshine Student Project" since the beginning of the school term in 2010, and so far more than 1,600 students have participated in the project, studying hard in schools and growing up healthily.

In the 2012-13 school year, CDIST and the members of Junior Police Call (JPC) Sunshine Student Project Committee, including Chairlady, Ms Ho Chiu-ha, and four vice-chairmen, Mr Yeung Man-lee, Mr Chow Chiu-sheung, Mr Ngai Hoi-ying, and Ms Chong Sze-pui, kept the "Sunshine Student Project" moving ahead in a bid to help Form I students adapt to school life as early as possible.

This year, a total of 550 Form I students from four schools affiliated to the Central JPC School Club, namely St. Joseph's College, Lok Sin Tong Leung Kau Kui College, Raimondi College and St. Margaret's Girls' College Hong Kong, have joined the project.  Through a host of activities, including visits to JPC clubhouse, Police Station, and the Drug InfoCentre of Narcotics Division, fight crime education talks, exhibitions, and fight crime activities organised by the schools, the students gained a better understanding of the JPC and the Force, and realised the serious consequences of abusing drugs and brushing with the law.

On July 3, the students attended a training day camp at the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Sports Centre under the guidance of two professional adventure activity instructors.

At a closing ceremony, they received graduation certificates from CDIST Commander Chau Ping-sun, Chairman of the Central and Western District Council, Mr Yip Wing-shing, Chairman of the Central and Western District Fight Crime Committee, Mr Yip Chun-nam, and Chairman of the Central District Junior Police Call Honorary President Council, Mr Kamson Lam. The officiating guests also presented certificates of appreciation to the instructors.
