A joint operation between Narcotics Bureau (NB) and the National Police Agency (NPA) in Japan in April led to the neutralisation of a trans-national drug trafficking syndicate in Japan and seizure of 240 kg of Methamphetamine.
As a token of appreciation, Superintendent Hirofumi Okuma from the Drugs and Firearms Division of NPA, led a delegation to call on the Force and expressed special thanks to Assistant Commissioner (Crime) John Ribeiro on September 3. On behalf of the Commissioner General of NPA, Mr Okuma presented certificates of appreciation to NB and five officers - Superintendent Ma Shun-kwong, Senior Inspector Hung Hiu-wai, Senior Inspector Iu Wing-kan, Inspector Ko Tik and Inspector Kwan Chun-hin.
Both Mr Ribeiro and Mr Okuma pledged to continue to work closely to combat international drug trafficking.
