The Project Teens Friendly Soccer Match organised by Kowloon East (KE) Regional Crime Prevention Office and the parent-teacher associations in KE Region came to a successful conclusion on August 27.
Members of Project Teens recruited by Crime KE Regional Headquarters formed a soccer team for the match, which aimed at steering students clear of crimes and drugs. Watching the match were students, teachers, parents and parent-teacher association representatives. The parents hoped the contest would drive home beat crime messages to the participants and students.
Before commencement of the match, police officers and members of Project Teens handed out leaflets on beating and preventing crimes to the spectators, reminding them to remain vigilant to infiltration of drugs into school campuses, and offering advice on phone and email scams.
Entering the final were teams from Sai Kung Sung Tsun Catholic School, Catholic Ming Yuen Secondary School, HKTA The Yuen Yuen Institute No. 3 Secondary School and Project Teens of KE Regional Headquarters. Following a very close contest, Sai Kung Sung Tsun Catholic School clinched the title, followed by Project Teens and HKTA The Yuen Yuen Institute No. 3 Secondary School as first and second runners-up respectively.
