Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) and Crime Prevention Bureau (CPB) delivered talks in a "Shop Security & Counterfeit Banknotes Prevention" seminar organised by the Hong Kong Retail Management Association on September 5.

At the seminar, CCB Senior Inspectors Yuen Kam-leung and Lo Pui-yan and CPB Station Sergeant Wong Kam-sing gave talks on differentiation of counterfeit Hong Kong banknote and Reminbi, email scam, and matters of shop security such as crime prevention measures, law and the typical crimes committed in retail shops.

The audience, comprising mainly staff and businessmen of the retail trade, took a great interest in the contents of talks, especially email scam. As small and medium enterprises are more vulnerable to such crime, the audience was reminded to verify email instructions from suppliers by phone or other means if they were requested to make payments into a new bank account.

CCB hopes the seminar would help it forge a close partnership with the retail trade in preventing crimes.
