Special traffic arrangements for festival parade
Police will implement crowd management and special traffic arrangements in Causeway Bay and Wan Chai on May 7 to facilitate the holding of a youth festival parade.
The parade will be held between 1.30 pm and 4 pm on Sunday (May 7). Special arrangements including road closures, traffic diversions and suspension of parking spaces will be implemented as follows:
(A) Road Closures
-----------------
The following arrangements will be implemented from 12.30 pm to 5 pm:
(a) A section of southbound Marsh Road between Hung Hing Road and Gloucester Road; and
(b) Southbound Marsh Road Flyover.
The following arrangements will be implemented from 1 pm to 5.30 pm:
(a) A section of southbound Tonnochy Road between Hung Hing Road and Gloucester Road;
(b) The second lane of northbound Tonnochy Road between Harbour Road and Hung Hing Road;
(c) A section of westbound Hung Hing Road between Wan Shing Street and Tonnochy Road;
(d) Marsh Road; and
(e) Marsh Road Flyover.
The following arrangements will be implemented from 1.15 pm to 5.30 pm:
(a) A section of eastbound Hennessy Road between Fleming Road and Great George Street;
(b) A section of eastbound Yee Wo Street between Great George Street and Sugar Street;
(c) A section of southbound Canal Road East between Lockhart Road and Hennessy Road; and
(d) Sugar Street.
(B) Traffic Diversions

The following arrangements will be implemented from 12.30 pm to 5.30 pm:
(a) Traffic on eastbound Hung Hing Road will be prohibited to turn right into Marsh Road; and
(b) Traffic on westbound Hung Hing Road will be prohibited to turn left into Marsh Road.
The following arrangements will be implemented from 1 pm to 5.30 pm:
(a) Traffic along northbound Tonnochy Road Flyover heading for Convention Avenue will be diverted into westbound Harbour Road, a U-turn slip road under Fleming Road Flyover and northbound Fleming Road;
(b) Traffic along northbound Tonnochy Road Flyover heading for Hong Kong Yacht Club, Police Officers' Club and the vicinity of Hung Hing Road and Wan Shing Street will be diverted into westbound Harbour Road, a U-turn slip road under Fleming Road Flyover, northbound Fleming Road, eastbound Convention Avenue and Hung Hing Road;
(c) Traffic along northbound Wan Shing Street must turn right into Hung Hing Road Flyover; and
(d) Traffic along northbound Tin Lok Lane must turn left into westbound Hennessy Road.
The following arrangements will be implemented from 1.15 pm to 5.30 pm:
(a) Traffic along northbound Fleming Road heading for eastbound Hennessy Road must go straight onto northbound Fleming Road or turn left into westbound Hennessy Road;
(b) Traffic along southbound Fleming Road heading for eastbound Hennessy Road must go straight onto southbound Fleming Road or turn right onto westbound Hennessy Road;
(c) Traffic along southbound Stewart Road heading for eastbound Hennessy Road must turn right onto westbound Hennessy Road;
(d) Traffic along westbound Lockhart Road heading for Canal Road East will be prohibited;
(e) Traffic along eastbound Lockhart Road near Marsh Road will be prohibited to turn left onto Marsh Road and Marsh Road Flyover;
(f) Traffic along southbound Percival Street heading for eastbound Hennessy Road must go straight onto southbound Percival Street; and
(g) Traffic along eastbound Hennessy Road near Fleming Road heading for Causeway Bay will be diverted to turn left into northbound Fleming Road or turn right into southbound Fleming Road except heading for Tonnochy Road;
The following special traffic arrangements may be implemented after 1.15 pm if necessary:
Road closure

(a) Southbound Gloucester Road will be closed;
Road diversion
--------------
(b) Traffic along eastbound Great George Street will be prohibited to turn right into southbound Gloucester Road and must turn left into northbound Gloucester Road or turn right into Tai Hang Road Flyover;
(c) Traffic along westbound Gloucester Road Service Road will be prohibited to turn left into Percival Street; and
(d) Traffic along westbound Gloucester Road Service Road will be prohibited to turn left into Canal Road East.
(C) Suspension of taxi stand

The taxi stand on Harbour Road will be suspended from 11 am to 5.30 pm.
(D) Suspension of motorcycle parking spaces

The motorcycle parking spaces on Marsh Road will be suspended from 11.30 am to 5.30 pm.
(E) Suspension of public light bus stand

The public light bus stand on Sugar Street will be suspended from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
(F) Suspension of carpark
-------------------------
The carpark in Hing Fat Street will be suspended from 10 am to 6 pm, except disabled parking spaces and motorcycle parking spaces.
Drivers are urged to take heed of traffic signs and the direction of Traffic Police at the scene.
