Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident
Police today (May 16) appeal to members of the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Sheung Wan on May 13.
Shortly before 3.15pm, a private car driven by a 45-year-old man was travelling along westbound Pier Road with two passengers on board. On reaching outside Harbour Building, it reportedly ran out of control and rammed onto an iron railing.
After the impact, the driver collapsed and was sent to Queen Mary Hospital where he was later certified dead at 1.02am on May 14. The two passengers sustained no injury.
Police urge anyone who has witnessed the accident or has information to offer to contact the Report Room of Traffic Hong Kong Island at 3106 8800.
