Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei

Police today (May 23) appealed to members of the public to provide information on a fatal traffic accident which occurred in Yau Ma Tei on May 15.

At about 6.50 pm on May 15, a motorcycle driven by an 18-year-old man was travelling along westbound Gascoigne Road. While approaching a pedestrian crossing near Chi Wo Street, it reportedly knocked down a 75-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

Sustaining head injuries, the woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was certified dead at 11.37 am on May 16.

Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are proceeding.

Police urge anyone who has witnessed the accident or has information to offer to contact the investigating officers at 2773 5262.
