Fatal traffic accident in Pat Heung

Police are investigating a traffic accident occurred in Pat Heung last night (October 2) in which a 21-year-old man died and three other persons injured.

At about 10.40 pm, a private car was travelling along Kam Sheung Road towards Tai Po. When it reached near Hoi Tong Garden, a private car in front slowed down but the subject private car could not stopped in time and rammed to the opposite lane where it hit another private car driven by a 30-year-old man with a 32-year-old woman on board.

The subject private car then overturned and stopped at the opposite lane.

Sustaining injuries, the 21-year-old male driver and a 21-year-old male passenger of the subject private car were sent to the North District Hospital where the passenger was certified dead at 11.26 pm.

The man and woman on board the private car being hit by the subject vehicle sustained slight injuries. They were also sent to the North District Hospital for medical treatment.

The case has been taken over by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic New Territories North for investigations.
