With a view to facilitating teachers and parents to deliver crime prevention messages to youngsters, Public Relations Wing published the “Youth Crime Prevention Booklet (2024 Edition)”. Based on the trend of youth crime recorded in 2023, the Booklet outlines five prevalent youth crimes, relevant cases, court rulings and tactics for teachers and parents to prevent young people from committing offences. This year, apart from the newly produced youth crime prevention videos, we have invited The Education University of Hong Kong for collaboration in devising five sets of teaching kit (in both Chinese and English version), which sets out the key points of the five thematic crimes, so as to further assist teachers in disseminating crime prevention information to students.
With a view to facilitating teachers and parents to deliver crime prevention messages to youngsters, Public Relations Wing produced the “Youth Crime Prevention Booklet (2023 Edition)”, which outlines five prevalent youth crimes and tactics for teachers and parents to prevent young people from committing offences.
Apart from expounding the trend of youth crime, relevant cases, court rulings, law enforcement operations and youth crime prevention methods, we further designed the key teaching points and five youth crime prevention videos. Teachers could utilize the package to encourage meaningful discussion with young people. Hopefully, the spirit of benevolence and kindness will be nurtured in youngsters’ heart, positive values will be built in their mind, and their law-abiding awareness will be enhanced.
"Youth Crime Prevention Booklet" sets out the information on the relevant laws, court rulings, preventive measures and supporting services about five common youth crimes for the education sector and parents to use in crime prevention education. It especially provides the signs of behavioural deviations of young people and a guide for teachers to tackle the related problems with a view to helping the stakeholders understand the youthful rebellion as “Grateful Hearts” and “Companions” and take action early.
