2022 Security Services Best Training Award

The Crime Prevention Bureau (CPB) and Vocational Training Council (VTC) jointly organised the 2022 Security Services Best Training Award (SSBTA) Presentation Ceremony on January 12. Director of Operations (D OPS) CHAN Tung, Chairman of the VTC Security and Disciplined Services Training Board (SDSTB) Stephen YIP Chun-nam, and the Vice Chairman of the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority (SGSIA) Dr Terence CHAN Ho-wah officiated at the ceremony attended by representatives from various Regions and the security industry.

A total of 136 awards comprising 68 Gold Awards, 34 Silver Awards, 21 Bronze Awards and 13 Merit Awards were presented to security companies this year. The award panel, formed by representatives from the Force, VTC SDSTB and SGSIA, assessed the security personnel training offered by participating companies, training materials, devotion of training resources, and the level of management participation in and support for training programmes.

In his speech, D OPS commended the award-winning companies for actively developing continuous training programmes, encouraging the security industry to draw up long-term and quality training plans. He thanked security workers with outstanding performance by highlighting success stories in which security personnel worked hand in hand with the Force to combat crimes. The security industry welcomed the support from the Force and VTC, remaining committed to raising the training standard of the sector.
