Security Services Best Training Awards presented to security companies

The Crime Prevention Bureau held the award presentation ceremony of the Security Services Best Training Award 2023 in conjunction with the Vocational Training Council (VTC) on January 24. Director of Operations (D OPS) CHAN Tung, Chairman of the VTC Security and Disciplined Services Training Board (SDSTB) Stephen YIP Chun-nam, and the Vice Chairman of the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority (SGSIA) Dr Terence CHAN Ho-wah were invited as guests of honour to officiate at the ceremony. Representatives from various police regions and the security industry attended the event.

A total of 155 awards comprising 92 Gold Awards, 42 Silver Awards, 11 Bronze Awards and 10 Merit Awards were presented to security companies this year. The award panel, formed by representatives from the Force, VTC, SDSTB and SGSIA, assessed the security personnel training offered by participating companies, training materials, devotion of training resources, and the level of management participation in and support for training programmes.

In his opening speech, D OPS commended the award-winning companies for actively developing continuous training programmes, encouraging the security industry to draw up long-term quality training programmes to enhance the competence of security guards. He thanked security workers for thier outstanding performance by highlighting success stories in which security personnel worked hand in hand with the Force to combat crimes. The security industry welcomed the support from the Force and VTC, staying committed to raising the training standard.
