Helpful hint! |
AS the lift doors opened, Amy saw the three kidnappers stare first at her, then Aaron, and then the babies.
¡@¡@"Get them!" shouted the one in the middle, reaching into the lift.¡@Aaron reacted quickly, pushing the triple stroller into the knees of all three men, who groaned in unison.
¡@¡@"Amy, press the button!" he shouted, as Amy reached across and jabbed at the numbers.¡@The doors slid shut as the three kidnappers clutched their shins in agony.¡@The triplets were all crying at the tops of their voices as the lift went down to the car park.
¡@¡@"Listen... I think I can hear a police siren," said Amy, straining to hear over the top of the babies' voices.
¡@¡@"I can't hear a thing," said Aaron, who had his hands over his ears anyway.¡@As the doors opened once more, Amy and Aaron held their breath.¡@Would the kidnappers have beaten them down the stairs? They were in luck.¡@The coast was clear.
¡@¡@As Amy pushed the stroller out of the lift, Aaron kept a lookout.
¡@¡@"There!" he said, pointing to the way out.¡@"We'll have to take a chance and make a run for it.¡@Come on!"
¡@¡@As Amy and Aaron struggled out of the car park with the stroller, they could hear a commotion behind them.¡@It was the three kidnappers, racing between the parked cars towards them.¡@They were gaining.
¡@¡@"This way, towords the station," said Amy, as the two teenagers reached the street with the children.¡@"Let's ditch the stroller," said Aaron, who thought they would have trouble if they tired to get it down the steps into the MTR station.
¡@¡@Amy quickly unclipped Ying-ying and Ying-yen and picked them up, while Aaron took hold of Ying-kai, who screamed even louder.¡@The duo dashed down the steps into the station.¡@They were both on the lookout for a Police officer, but there did not seem to be any around.
¡@¡@"Down here, quick!" said Amy, as she headed off towards the platform.¡@"I think we can lose them."
¡@¡@The two teenagers hid behind a pillar as they waited for a train.¡@Ying-ying and Ying-yen had quietened down considerably as Amy comforted them.¡@Ying-kai was still howling.¡@The train arrived and they hopped on.¡@Amy and Aaron slumped into two seats and breathed relief.¡@They had made it.
¡@¡@The train doors were starting to shut, when Amy heard the sound of someone jumping on at the last minute.
¡@¡@She glanced up.¡@Her face fell as she saw who it was.
