Last Christmas, I went on a special trip with my friends without our parents coming along. The place we went to was Hokkaido, a famous city in Japan. It was a skiing season over there.

By the time we arrived at the airport, we immediately saw the snow. It was freezing and we were fortunate to have enough clothes. People are very polite and kind-hearted, especially when we got lost and a man showed his patience and eagerness to help us. We were happy to enjoy good food that was a lot cheaper than that in Hong Kong, particularly seafood. I strongly recommend anyone who may go to Hokkaido to try the giant spider crab.

Although we did not know how to ski, I was very excited as it was my first time trying this interesting sport. For the entire afternoon, my friends fell down only twice but I kept losing my footing before our coach came and taught us the correct ways of skiing. After some basic and advanced practices, I was able to ski down the hill. I would love to go skiing as often as possible in future. Before we had gone back to Hong Kong, we bought quite a lot of souvenirs for our friends and parents, hoping to share our happiness with them.
