The Force has clinched 10 awards in the CSA 2013, comprising four gold, two silver, three meritorious and one special citation awards. Mr Ma presented certificates to the winning Formations and teams, and encouraged Force members to continue to strive for professionalism, quality service and continuous improvement in "all we do as a team and serve the public with pride and care."

Feelings of team awardees

Officers of Service Quality Wing, Police Relations Branch, Planning and Development Branch, Central District, Wong Tai Sin District and Mong Kok District are proud of winning the Service Enhancement Award with a New Generation Report Room Project to enhance reporting services.  They see the award as recognition of the Force's constant efforts to improve Report Room services.

The projects rolled out by Police Dog Unit to train up police dogs have proved effective. Nowadays, Dog Handlers and their canine partners are playing a more important role in beating crime alongside Emergency Unit officers in Police Districts. Pulling off the Regulatory/Enforcement Service Award and the Special Citation (Innovation) Award is a great encouragement and motivation for the Unit.

The Crisis / Incident Support Service Award clinched by the Disaster Victim Identification Unit is a testament to the world-class professional standard the Unit has attained as well as a motivation for the Unit to continue to provide quality services during major incidents.

There has been a big drop in the cases involving people with mental health problems since Kwai Tsing District rolled out "Project Dawn" three years ago. Having won the Specialised Service Award with the project, officers of the District will continue to work hard in promoting a service culture in their daily chores.

An exhibition illustrating the winning projects and units are now on display on the 5/F Foyer until November 15. The winning teams' written submissions have also been uploaded to SQW's website.
