Rear Admiral Mark Montgomery, Commander of the Battle Force Seventh Fleet of the United States Navy, paid a courtesy call on Acting Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Wong Chi-hung on June 17, during the port visit to Hong Kong by the George Washington Carrier Strike Group of the fleet between June 16 and 20. 

 

During the courtesy call, Mr Montgomery expressed his appreciation for the professional support the Force provided for the strike group during the visit.

 

Having exchanged views on a wide range of issues, including maritime security matters, both Mr Wong and Mr Montgomery agreed that the port visit facilitated both sides in maintaining close liaison and enhancing mutual understanding.
