To offer training in on-line crimes and scams as well as road safety, Tuen Mun District (TMDIST) held a fight crime workshop and a visit to Police Museum for a party of Senior Police Call (SPC) Fight Crime Ambassadors on April 30.
The functions aimed at making the SPC members more knowledgeable of the fight against crime and the developments of the Force so that they would be more capable of playing their roles as Fight Crime Ambassadors. The topics of the workshop included road and bicycle safety, household security, online scams and naked chat. Hardly having access to information on online crimes, the elders showed a great interest in the topics. They also learned more about road safety, in particular the ways to cross the road in safety.
During the visit to Police Museum, the displays on the Force’s history, uniforms and insignias, triads and dangerous drugs gave the elders an eye-opening experience. Some of them commented that the information would help them play their roles as Fight Crime Ambassadors more effectively.
