Shatin District Junior Police Call (JPC) has been promoting healthy lifestyles and helping youngsters to steer clear of crimes and drugs. As this year marks the 40th anniversary of the JPC, the Chairman of the Shatin District JPC Honorary Presidents Council, Mr Cho Kwai-yee, led Shatin District JPC members and the staff of his company in participating in a charity run organised by the Hong Kong Network for the Promotion of Inclusive Society in support of the services for the disabled.

The race started at the Pak Shek Kok Promenade outside the Science Park on June 8 immediately after Mr Cho, Shatin District Deputy Commander Angela Chiu and representatives from other participating bodies officiated at a kick-off ceremony.

Through the race, the JPC runners had a chance not only to challenge themselves, but also make a contribution to promotion of good health, charity and dissemination of the barrier-free message. The fund raised in race will finance education for the children of the disabled and other activities to promote inclusion of persons with disabilities.

The race drew nearly 2 000 runners for a 10-km individual event and four 3-km team events. The JPC runners did not let their supporters down by clinching a number of titles, in particular the overall championship in the men-and-women mix 3-km team event, bringing the participation in the charity run to a great success.
