The Police Recruitment Day 2014 came to a successful conclusion at Police Headquarters on July 26, attracting more than 1 900 applications.

Acting Director of Personnel and Training Ng Tsui Fung-ying and officers from Human Resources Branch shared their work experiences with potential applicants in four seminars in order to give them a better picture of the diverse nature  of police work.

Sharing her satisfaction of serving society as a professional police officer, Mrs Ng said that as police officers are valuable asset of the Force, there is a well-established career path providing various development opportunities for Force members. She encouraged applicants to seize the opportunities and choose police work as a lifelong career.

One of the major events of the Force's proactive recruitment strategy, the Recruitment Day provided an one-stop service for applicants, ranging from initial screening (height and weight measurements as well as eyesight test) to scheduling of written examinations for the post of Probationary Inspector (PI), and initial screening and group interviews for Recruit Police Constable (RPC) applicants.

The recruitment target of the 2014-15 financial year is over 200 PIs and 1 100 RPCs.  In October and November, the "Police Inspector Recruitment Express" will take place on the campuses of universities and institutions of higher education to receive applications from final year undergraduates. To attract more people aspiring to joining the Force, Recruitment Division will organise more recruitment activities for students from universities and institutions of higher education as well as members of Junior Police Call and youth uniform groups.
