We share a common passion - music - and often come together to form a band after work and play our favourite songs. Since the start of Operation SOLARPEAK, we, just like all our colleagues, have been working long hours and have been subjected to stress and criticism. At the beginning, we were sorry about these and a bit frustrated, but, thanks to the mutual support and encouragement among officers, we faced adversity with a positive attitude.

 

In the operation, some of us worked on the frontline, appreciating very much the toil as well as the physical and psychological stress of frontline officers. Considering composing a cheering song for officers, CIP Tam Wai-shun knew that SGT Lok Ka-wai had modified a classic song. Therefore in response to the operation, new lyrics were adopted to compose the "Unregretful Faith" to cheer up officers. The song took just two or three days from conception to completion, and was recorded during lunchtime, with two officers coming to the recording studio immediately after work.

 

Initially, our intention was to play the song among some colleagues, but there was a lot of favourable feedback the next morning. Therefore we recorded a new version on October 9. It was a very pleasant surprise for us when the song was played on the Internet and some people made a video with photos showing officers at work. All these boil down to a motivation for us to compose more cheering songs

 

We hope our song would bring officers more synergy so that they would remain unflinching in their faith and work and face work with an open mind. Just like what we say in the lyrics, every cloud has a silver lining as long as we remain steadfast. Don't forget, we are not alone!
