NTN Region
Regional Crime Prevention Office New Territories North (RCPO NTN) officers headed for the Umah International Primary School in Yuen Long, a school for Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) kids, and celebrated Christmas with them on December 19 last year.
Dressed in Santa Claus costumes, the officers presented magic show and distributed Christmas gifts. Regional Crime Prevention Officer NTN, Chief Inspector Lam Siu-fung, also dipped into her own pocket to buy stationery for a lucky draw. Students from the Lingnam University's Diploma in Discipline Forces Programme were on hand to help out with the visit as "NTN Regional Fight Crime Volunteers". Appointed in June last year, they would have more understanding of different social groups through participation in various activities.
During the festive season, RCPO NTN also initiated an "E-Card" activity, sending a Force Electronic Greetings Card to organisations participating in a "Crime Prevention Network" for combating technology crime and deception, such as property management offices, schools, construction sites and Small Medium Enterprises.
YLDIST
On the same day, Yuen Long District (YLDIST) arranged for the mentees of its "Project HIMALAYA" to visit the Hong Chi Morningjoy School in Yuen Long and share Christmas joy with over 200 intellectually disabled students. YLDIST hoped the visit would boost the mentees' sense of belonging to society and encourage them to care for the people in need.
Led by police volunteers, the mentees played games and sang carols with the students, besides distributing Christmas gifts. In return for their heart-warming efforts, the school presented a banner to the mentees.
