T KW
Traffic Kowloon West (T KW) offered on December 12 a lecture on safe driving for those planning to obtain a driving licence and holders of the probationary driving licence, hoping they would cultivate good driving manners and observe traffic regulations.
At the lecture, T KW officers cited real cases and emphasised the importance of safe driving, such as refraining from using mobile phones while driving. They also illustrated the common mistakes made by probationary drivers and the serious consequences and legal liabilities of drink driving and drug driving. The lecture also covered the potential risks for motorists, for instance pedestrians dashing out among vehicles to cross the road, besides safe cycling.
On December 17, officers from the T KW Road Safety Office, together with a Non-governmental Organisation, Hong Kong Rehabilitation Power, conducted a road safety lecture for electric wheelchair users, reminding the audience of the risk of crossing roads and citing real cases as preventive measures.
