The New Territories South (NTS) Regional Monitoring Group on Information Security (InfoSec) started running a seven-week Roadshow Programme on January 26 in a bid to make officers more conscious of InfoSec. The programme will conclude on March 15.

Following their formal appointments in October last year, the 139 InfoSec Ambassadors in NTS will do their utmost to promote InfoSec in the coming year. In the Roadshow Programme, they are responsible for displaying in the formations eye-catching easy-mount banners offering useful tips on InfoSec and for giving briefings on the subject to their colleagues.

A briefing package, covering the updated policy on InfoSec, the objectives and approach of Force Information Security Strategy, and tips on prevention of information leakage, has been uploaded to the NTS InfoSec Corner in the Regional Web-page for officers to brush up their InfoSec knowledge.

For the Chairman of the NTS Regional Monitoring Group on InfoSec, Senior Superintendent Ko Kim-fung, a key factor for the success of strategy implementation is cultivation of a culture on information security and peer support. Pledging full support for the InfoSec Ambassadors, he is confident they would perform their role effectively.
