As several major infrastructure projects are underway in Tai Po, Tai Po District (TPDIST) has motivated construction companies to prevent theft from construction sites. On December 18, 2014, TPDIST hosted an Anti-theft from Construction Site Seminar for the sites managers, sites foremen, contractors and security personnel from 11 construction sites, hoping they would see the need to thwart off construction site crimes. 

 

Speaking at the seminar, Tai Po District Councillor, Mr Chan Siu-kuen, and Tai Po Assistant Divisional Commander (Operations) Shum Hoi-kwong explained the modus operandi and crime trend to 23 participants and four District Councillors. The participants actively exchanged with the police views on the anti-theft measures for their construction sites, while the guests also offered some valuable advice.
