Deputy Commissioner (Management) Lo Wai-chung, Director of Finance, Administration and Planning Ip Man-fai and Police Civil Secretary Leung Ho-yin met more than 20 representatives from the seven civilian staff associations at a lunch gathering on March 10.
The representatives included the chairpersons, vice-chairpersons and executive committee members of the Association of Police Translators, Association of Police Communications Officers, Hong Kong Traffic Wardens Union, HKSAR Government Traffic Wardens General Union, Hong Kong Police Force Telecommunications Technical Staff Union, Hong Kong Police Force Model Scale I Staff Association and Hong Kong Police Force Civilian Officers' Union. They exchanged views on many issues related to the civilian grades with Mr Lo.
Mr Lo said the Force faced unprecedented and enormous challenges last year, but all Force members, including both the disciplined and civilian grades, made a concerted effort to cope with difficult situations.
Mr Lo also thanked the civilian staff associations for playing an important role in enhancing internal communication. The management would continue to maintain a close dialogue with the associations through different channels to find out their needs and provide assistance. He hoped the staff side and the management would work together to enhance the professionalism of various staff grades.
