10 Years Plus Caring Organisation Logo
The Hong Kong Council of Social Service has awarded the Force with the "10 Years Plus Caring Organisation Logo" in 2015 for discharging Corporate Social Responsibility and caring for the community, Force members and environment over the past 10 years.
In addition, 43 police units have been included in the "List of Barrier-free Companies / Organisations" in recognition of the Force's continuous improvement in developing a barrier-free environment and culture.
Carelinks Cadre 10th Anniversary
As police work is getting increasingly stressful, the Psychological Services Group, together with the disciplined and civilian staff, established the Carelinks Cadre in 2005. Throughout the past 10 years, the Cadre devoted itself to promoting a caring culture and peer support within the Force through voluntary services. In 2013, the Cadre won the meritorious award of the Civil Service Outstanding Service Award (internal support). This represents another recognition of the work of the Cadre.
Social Responsibility Initiatives
In pursuance of social responsibility, Force members have participated actively in volunteer services, charity projects and environmental protection initiatives in collaboration with social service organisations and government departments, including Community Chest (Community Assistance Raised by Employees, Skip Lunch Day, Dress Casual Day, and Love Teeth Day), Po Leung Kuk (Charity Walk), Salvation Army (Used Clothing Collection Campaign), Red Cross (Blood Donation), Christian Zheng Sheng College (Project Sparkle), and Department of Health (Organ Donation Day).
The Force has also participated in other activities, including Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, Dress Pink Day, "Movember" Campaign, Force 170th Anniversary Charity Concert, and Hong Kong: Our Home Campaign.
RPCs serve community
At the invitation of Police College, the Officer-in-charge of Wai Ji Christian Service Tin King Bradbury Centre Cum Hostel, Mr Chan Kam-fai, and two social workers conducted a seminar on people with intellectual disabilities for 200 Recruit Police Constables (RPCs) at the Police College on January 8. The event aimed at arousing the RPCs' interest in serving the community, and half of them signed up as volunteers after the seminar.
Nearly $3m raised in 2014
The Force raised more than $2,981,000 in charity events in 2014, including Love Teeth Day, Force Collection - Employee Contribution Programme, Po Leung Kuk Charity Walk, The Cousmmity Chest Skip Lunch Day, Force 170th Anniversary Charity Concert, Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, Dress Casual Day, MTR HK Race Walking, and Community Assistance Raised by Employees Scheme.
