The Hong Kong Police Force 170th Anniversary Marine Police Exhibition held on Cheung Chau between April 17 and 19 as well as 24 and 26 was a huge success, attracting a total of over 23 000 visitors.
The highlights of the exhibition included a display of new and old uniforms, equipment, videos and photos, as well as parades performed by officers clad in old Marine Police uniforms and various marine-related interactive games. Many visitors also went on board a Police Launch moored at Cheung Chau Public Pier for taking snapshots.
The Cheung Chau Rural Committee and local organisations jointly offered a treasure hunt activity to showcase the local cultures and customs. The exhibition not only gave the public a better idea of the work of Marine Police, but also enhanced the Force's public image.
