The Police Karate-do Club (PKDC) held the Annual Karate-do Tournament at Police Sports and Recreation Club (PSRC) on April 19, attracting about 130 karate-do practitioners to take part in over 20 events, including PKDC representatives, children of police officers, and representatives from different karate-do clubs.

The PKDC achieved impressive results in the tournament, bagging one gold and five silver medals, with Yeung Wo-yin winning a gold medal in the 13-14 age group.  His father, Station Sergeant Yeung Ki-wai, said karate-do helps enhance one's agility, perseverance, body balance and physique.

PKDC Chairman, Superintendent Young Chi-man, thanked Sergeant Lam Kin-fung for his great efforts over the years to coach junior members with remarkable results. PKDC Vice-chairman, Chief Inspector Lee Cho-ming, said the tournament continued to promote a healthy lifestyle and develop karate-do skills through meetings and interaction.

Force members and their families are welcome to attend the separate training sessions for adult and junior members organised by the PKDC at PSRC every Friday from 7:30pm to 9pm and every Sunday from 10:45am to 12:30pm. For enquiries, contact Chief Inspector Sum Ching-fun at 2860-7720 or email: waynesum@police.gov.hk.
