Following the launch of its Noble Bar Scheme on March 16, Wan Chai District (WHCDIST) has organised a series of follow-up promotional activities, including liaison visits, distribution of fliers and workshops.
On May 21, the first round of workshop took place in Wan Chai Police Station for about 20 bar representatives and residents. In an opening address, Wan Chai Assistant Divisional Commander (Operations) Yu Siu-chuen introduced the Noble Bar Scheme and the key messages of the workshop.
The Officer-in-charge of the WCHDIST Anti-Triad Section 2 Pang Fu-cheong presented information on late night violence and crime prevention. Wan Chai Licensing Office Sub-unit Commander Kwan Tat-hoi presented matters of liquor licence, while Wan Chai Division Task Force Sub-unit Commander 2 Man Chi-fai gave a briefing on the natures, statistics and situation of local community issues and police measures. At the same time, a representative from Environmental Protection Department spoke on noise control and relevant knowledge and legislation.
After the presentations, the speakers and the audience exchanged views on the improvement to the local environment. The workshop succeeded in strengthening the co-operation and communication among government departments, members of the public and bar operators.
