The Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, Mr Liu Zhongyi, led a 23-member delegation to visit the Force, Government Laboratory, Prosecutions Division of Department of Justice and Forensic Pathology Service of Department of Health between November 2 and 6.
The delegation studied Hong Kong's criminal proceedings, judicial process, collection of evidence, testimony of expert witnesses and the technologies used in criminal investigation. Mr Liu also paid a courtesy call on Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Wong Chi-hung.
The objective of the visit was to study the co-operation between Hong Kong and Mainland law-enforcement authorities for enhancing enactment of the amended "Criminal Procedure Law of the People's Republic of China".
The delegation also visited police units to exchange good practices and experiences of combating crime, such as Organized Crime and Triad Bureau, Identification Bureau, Liaison Bureau and Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau.
