A delegation, led by Senior Superintendent Ho Wai-hong and comprising Superintendent Ip Ka-yee, two Chief Inspectors and six Senior Inspectors, visited the New Zealand Police (NZP) between September 7 and 11.
With arrangements made by Police College, the main objective of the visit was to study the NZP's multi-agency approach to handle people suffering from mental distress, information security system and media strategy related to the New Zealand Infant Formula Contamination Threat.
During the five-day visit, the delegation called at the Royal New Zealand Police College and the NZP National Headquarters in Wellington, as well as the Organised and Financial Crime Agency and two police districts in Auckland, including their command and control centre and facilities.
The delegation also met the Deputy Commissioner (National Operations), Mr Mike Clement, who shared his valuable experience of coordinating response to the New Zealand Infant Formula Contamination Threat in the fields of crisis management, public safety, crime investigation, public relations and media strategies.
The study visit was an eye-opening experience for the delegates, allowing them to exchange views and policing experiences with their overseas counterparts.
