The Police Recruitment Day (Autumn) 2015 took place at Police Headquarters on October 31, attracting more than 2 200 applications.
Assisted by over 120 Force members, including Junior Police Officer Development Programme mentees and volunteers from the regular and auxiliary police forces, the applicants completed within half a day the initial screening for height and weight measurements as well as eyesight test, academic qualification check, scheduling of written examinations for Probationary Inspector (PI) applicants and physical fitness test for Auxiliary Police applicants as well as group interviews for Recruit Police Constable (RPC) applicants. Auxiliary police officers also conducted seminars for applicants to get a better understanding of the Auxiliary Police Force and their training. Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Lau Chi-wai was present at the event to show support for the working staff.
The recruitment target for the financial year 2015/16 is 190 PIs and 1 320 RPCs. To attract candidates with high calibre to join the Force, Recruitment Division will continue to organise more recruitment activities. The Education and Careers Expo cum Winter Recruitment Day has been scheduled for late January 2016.
