At the "2014 Director of Marine's Commendation for Bravery" presentation ceremony on November 30, Director of Marine, Ms Maisie Cheng, commended 21 officers for risking their lives in rescuing people.

Twelve of the commended officers came from Marine Region – Station Sergeant (SSGT) So Wai-ming, Sergeants (SGTs) Wan Fu-keung, Ngan Ming-shing, Tsoi Yiu-chung and Sit Wai-keung, as well as Police Constables (PCs) Shek Chi-wai, Chan Yiu-chung, Tang Yung-hang, Yu Chi-kei, Lee Kin-ching, Tang Chun-yiu and Cheng Ho-man.

The other officers were SGT Lo Ho-bun, PCs Choi Wai-chiu, Lau Tak-wing, Lau Sin-keung and Wong Kin-keung from Hong Kong Island Region, SSGT Chan Po-shan, SGT Lee Kit-yu and PC Lee Ka-kui from NTN Region, as well as SGT Law Kwok-hung from Kowloon West Region.
