Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB), Office of the Government Chief Information Officer and Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Co-ordination Centre have joined forces in launching an annual campaign known as "Build a Secure Cyberspace" for heightening public awareness of cyber security and technology crime.

The campaign comprises a series of public engagement activities, including seminars, radio programmes and competitions. A seminar with the theme, "Cyber Security is Everywhere", took place on November 27, in which Chief Inspector Sean Lin from CSTCB analysed the latest trends of technology crime and offered advice on preventing common technology crimes, including email scam, naked chat and social media deception.

At the same time, representatives from the Government and industry associations covered a range of hot topics, including the challenges to information security, points to note for mobile banking, mobile and smart device security, cloud security and effective measures for organisations to combat cyber attacks.

The seminar also marked the presentation ceremony of a "Cyber Security is Everywhere" Graphic Design Contest. The contest was divided into categories of open, secondary school and primary school. Over 1 500 entries were received and details of the winning entries are available at www.cybersecurity.hk.
