The Force renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Student Internship Programme with the City University of Hong Kong on January 27. The objective of the programme is to enhance the partnership between the two parties by offering students opportunities to undertake police related academic research projects assigned by Service Quality Wing (SQW).
Assistant Commissioner (Service Quality) Li Kin-fai and Assistant Head of Department of Public Policy, Dr Cheung Chor-yung, signed the MOU. Witnessing the signing ceremony was Director of Management Services Chiu Wai-yin. Also present were Chief Superintendent Tsang Yim-sheung from Performance Review Branch and Dr Arthur Cheung and Dr Glenn Hui, both from the City University of Hong Kong.
"This is a milestone in enhancing the co-operation between the Force and the City University of Hong Kong. The MOU is very important for the Force's commitment to engaging the academia in providing quality services to the public," said Mr Li.
The MOU was first signed in 2013 and since then six undergraduates have participated in the internship programme and completed a total of five research projects.
