Tai Po District (TPDIST) held the "Legal System Workshop - Dialogue with Lawyers" on December 19, which was the second phase of a Drug Fighting Elite Scheme sponsored by the local branch of the Rotary International. The scheme aims at steering teenagers clear of crimes and drugs.

In this workshop, experienced lawyers from the Rotary International explained to 40 secondary students of senior forms from Tai Po and North District the relevant laws, trial procedures of cases, techniques of examining witnesses by prosecution and defence and adducing evidence, as well as the roles and responsibilities of the police and lawyers in court. These presentations broadened the students' horizons and understanding of the significance of the rule of law. Following the workshop, many students said the jobs of police officers and lawyers were challenging.
