Following the launch of an anti-burglary campaign by Wan Chai District (WCHDIST) in October last year, there has been a significant drop in burglary in the last quarter of 2015. Encouraged by this improvement, WCHDIST conducted a third workshop targeting at buildings with scaffolding on January 19.

Present at the workshop were representatives from Owners' Corporation and management companies and security personnel. The workshop began with Assistant Divisional Commander (Operations) Yu Siu-chuen stressing the importance of police-community co-operation for combating crime. Patrol Sub-unit Inspector Wong Tsang-fung then analysed the current crime trend in WCHDIST and introduced the strategies to combat burglary. Officers from Regional Crime Prevention Office offered advice on preventing burglary in buildings under renovation with scaffolding.

The workshop drew favourable comments from the participants and reinforced police-community relation and co-operation.
