Representatives of the Owners' Corporation of a building in Yau Ma Tei and a construction company presented tapestry banners to Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) on January 6 for busting a case of extorting "protection money" arising from renovation of the building.

Officers from the District Anti-triad Squad (DATS) arrested a suspect after the latter had demanded "protection money" from the construction company carrying out the renovation project. In a bid to enhance police-community relation, YTDIST Commander Kwok Pak-chung, Deputy District Commander Chan Wai-ming, Assistant District Commander (Crime) Cheng Lai-ki and DATS officers called at the building and accepted the banners.
