Speaking at the luncheon, Mr Chau pointed out that thanks to the professionalism and duty commitment of both disciplined and civilian officers, the services delivered by the Force had earned the appreciation and support of the general public despite the rapidly increasing aspirations of society. At the same time, the Force had also demonstrated to the public and the international community its capability to maintain law and order.
Mr Chau thanked the civilian staff associations for enhancing internal communication, adding that the views collected by them had helped the Force management take timely measures to create a conducive working environment for frontline officers. Finally, he emphasised that he was confident of the Force, with the concerted effort of the staff, being able to cope with challenges and continue to deliver quality services.
