The Sau Mau Ping District (SMPDIST) Spring Reception took place on February 24 before some 300 guests from Kwun Tong and Kowloon City District Councils and District Fight Crime Committees, local groups, community partners and other government departments. Copies of the latest issue of the "Sau Mau Ping District Newsletter" were distributed at the event to highlight the work of the District last year and promote its visions for the future.

Speaking at the reception, SMPDIST Commander Yuen Yuk-kin thanked local leaders and the local community for their support over the years. He also thanked SMPDIST Junior Police Call Honorary Presidents for their devotion to and enthusiasm for grooming the younger generation.

Meanwhile, the reception also saw 15 outstanding police officers being presented with certificate of commendation under the SMPDIST Outstanding Police Award 2015, which was run for enhancing police-community co-operation and boosting police morale. The award winners were picked by a selection panel comprising the Chairman of Kwun Tong District Fight Crime Committee, Mr Chow Yiu-ming, two committee members, Mr Lo Yan-lai and Ms Ma Ka-wai, and SMPDIST Police Community Relations Officer Yiu Hon-sang.
