The incident was locating my dad, who suffers from a sort of dementia resulting from terminal liver cancer. He is told to be in his last 3-6 months now, and is unable to make phone calls, do basic arithmetic, or function as a normal person. On that day, he wandered onto the streets in his pyjamas and slippers when the only other person at home who was looking after him left the house momentarily to buy groceries.
Both officers and their surrounding units were helpful, patient, and friendly. They cautiously and considerately asked good questions to understand the case, before readily providing assistance to locate my lost dad. A nearby patrol located him, before another unit drove him back home.
I would like to commend the patient and friendly attitude of the officers, and also their diligence in the process. Our entire family do not take these things for granted and would like to thank the Hong Kong Police Force for this, and for safeguarding the public in general.
Mr Yung
