KM activities - 'Superb NCO (Part 2)' and 'Intellectual 40m'


The latest session of Knowledge Cafe on the topic of "I want to be a Superb NCO" was conducted by five experienced speakers at the Police Headquarters on May 26. The event was well-received with a total of 95 attendees, 24 of whom were Sergeants.


Superintendent (Administration) of Marine Regional Headquarters Au Yeung Kwok-kee, who is Chairman of Sergeant Promotion Board 2016/2017, shared his observation on candidates' performance. Then Station Sergeant (SSGT) Man Tat-fai from Railway District explained his supervisory duties and change of mentality after his promotion to Sergeant. SSGT of Patrol Sub-unit 4 of Aberdeen Division Fung Po-lo also talked about the responsibilities of a Detective Sergeant with reference to his fight crime experience. Afterwards, Assistant Duty Officer of Report Room of Wanchai Division Ng Wing-yan shared her experience in answering questions of the interview board.


Furthermore, Chief Inspector of Junior Police Officer Division Wan Hiu-ting told participants how to codify their service records.


Most participants found the sharing inspiring and practical to their day-to-day duties and looked forward to the next session of the cafe.


Intellectual 40m


On the other hand, the Police College invited a Nursing Officer of the Department of Health,    Ms Lum Lai-chun, to share with colleagues about "The Social Context of Organ Donation" on May 30. The participants were briefed on the situation of organ donation in Hong Kong and its meaningful values to organ recipients, donors and their families. The sharing session encouraged participants to take a more positive perspective on organ donation. Some of them expressed a wish to put their name in the Centralised Organ Donation Register. Any person who wishes to donate organs after death is welcome to register online at https://www.codr.gov.hk/.
